As you can tell by the pricing, these are aftermarket seals. There is a growing debate on the differences between the two, and most will agree that if price is of no concern, then you should certainly order new OEM seals from your local dealer.
However, if you are on a budget, or simply can not wait for OEM units to become re-supplied and back in current inventory for local purchase, then these seals make an excellent alternative.
We have used both, and we have cursed both... At best the OEM units appear to be a slightly softer rubber, making for a slightly easier install. However, as we've seen after many years in the desert, the OEM seals do not last as long as the aftermarket rubber compound, so the study continues.
We find that most installers having difficulty with Door Seal fitment really has much more to do with your glass, wing window, striker, and hinge alignment than the seal.
So despite the fitment that is really irrelevant to the seal, we all continue to blame the seal despite it's orgin, as both take too long to "break in" and the choice remains yours...
